The Work of God in me

Ps. 4:3

But know that the Lord has set apart for Himself him who is godly; The Lrod will hear when I call to Him.

.

Sometimes I wonder why God has formed me the way I am. I have struggled with the question – Like the pot does to the one who fashioned it in Romans 9 – Why did you make me this way? I believe that we all ask that question at some point – in our hearts. I am not necessarily saying that it is a correct question to ask – since Romans 9 condemns the question – but we all have wondered Why God does things or created things. I suppose it is the motivation behind the question.

.

I have owned a company for almost 21 years now. I have been “molded” by Gods providence and sovereignty to be what I am. He is the one who formed me – because I believe that He is completely in control over everything.

The Answer – For Himself to do with and be rewarded with the Work of  His hands – In me. This can mean several things:

A. Service – God forms us as a tool – sometimes to be used in the hearts of others in a positive way bringing them to a relationship with God through Christ. Perhaps to encourage them or help them in some way.

B. Work of Art that pleases Him – I believe that work of God in a persons heart is sometimes like a work of Art. It is just on display and does not actually “do” anything. A work of Art does not “do” anything at all. I believe that the work of God in sanctification is sometime like art. It is viewed and enjoyed by the one who makes it – for it is He only who can see a mans heart. Certainly we too can benefit from it – but it is done because of the kind intention of His will and for His pleasure – 1st and foremost.

That is it – as far as I see it. It is either that we are formed to be godly for the benefit of others or just to be a pleasure to the Lord – a sweet smelling aroma that only He fully knows. Sometimes it is both.

.

.

You see – I struggle sometime with Why I am the way He has formed me. Sometimes I am a chisel (a tool)  in His hands to break apart something in someone else – and I do not necessarily like this. I have been persecuted somewhat when standing for the truth. Truth can break the emotions of others and make them very mad at you and hate and persecute you. But I cannot say why God did you give me this gift of prophecy but I must accept it and pray for God to have His will in my situations – Trusting Him with the results. I am learning sometime to just shut my mouth and be that Art that hangs on the wall – hopefully giving pleasure to the Lord who has formed it. We must learn to sometimes  –  Be quiet. Godliness is His work not mine – so also the end result is too.

What freedom! So many christians never come to know this  – but all of this is based on the trust that God is sovereign and in total complete control – all of which is for His glory. I am  just the choosen vessel of the goodness of God through Salvation. What wonderful freedom we have in Christ. WOW what a great God we serve. Thank you Lord!
